   Abstract

Switzerland is a party to the Ottawa Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction. The Swiss government follows seven guiding principles in providing assistance to victims: non-discrimination against victims of landmines; integrated approach; participation of host country; national responsibility of host country; transparency and efficiency; sustainable development, and respect of victims' rights and dignity.
